What really keeps us healthy?
Across the Black Country people generally live shorter lives than in the rest of England and spend more of their lives living with health conditions.
We know access to healthcare can influence how healthy people are but there is much more to what makes us healthy.
90% of what makes us healthy has nothing to do with healthcare. To really understand the causes of ill health we must look at wider issues, those circumstances in which people are born, grow and live. It is these wider determinants of health that can see people thrive or struggle to survive.
Members of the public are being invited to give their views at Dudley’s Healthcare Forum on Wednesday, December 2nd. The forum is being held online from 10.30am.
